Planning Your Blue Mountains Ceremony – FAQ
What is the best season for a mountain wedding?
The Blue Mountains region is gorgeous year-round, but Autumn (March to May) offers incredible golden foliage, while Spring (September to November) brings stunning, vibrant garden blossoms. If you have always wanted a Summer wedding (December - February), you'll find it much less humid and not quite as hot as the rest of Western Sydney. And of course, who could forget Winter (June-August)?
Because Blue Mountains weather can range in temperatures and wether conditions year round, we will be watching weather predictions in the lead up to your day, and make any necessary Plan B location changes if it is required.
How far in advance should we book our wedding celebrant?
Don’t delay this important criteria for your wedding.Lock me in at least 1 month prior to your planned wedding date, and up to 18 months in advance. If there is any urgency to marry less than 1 months notice, I can assist you with applying for “shortening of time” if your specific situation fits with the required criteria. I am happy to chat with you and go through all of the details.
Do we need a permit for an outdoor wedding ceremony in the Blue Mountains?
Yes, if you are planning to tie the knot in a public park, local lookout, or within the Blue Mountains National Park, you will generally need to lodge a booking application or permit with the Blue Mountains City Council or the National Parks and Wildlife Service. I can easily guide you through this process during our initial planning stages.
How accessible are the ceremony sites for guests?
I will work with you to determine what access you require if you have people requring wheelchair access or short walking from car park areas etc.There are many lovely locations easily reached via accessible walking tracks which are not challenging, and provide you with stunning backdrops.
